Post 1575 Induction of Officers

LEGIONNAIRES STILL SERVING AMERICA

American Legion Post 1575 (known as the Katonah Legion) has served as a cornerstone of the veteran community in northern Westchester since its founding on September 5, 1946. Initially, the Katonah Legion utilized the Katonah Memorial House for its meetings and activities. In 1953, through private donations by Bedford residents and non-interest bearing loans from community organizations, the Katonah Legion was able to purchase "Idlewood," a former resort-hotel property at 136 Jay Street, Katonah. The Katonah Legion's flag has proudly and continuously flown on that site since then.

The Katonah Legion is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, and our communities. It provides direct support and resources to veterans, organizes local events that promote American values and patriotism, and engages in educational programs and charitable activities to honor and assist those who have served our nation.

The Katonah Legion is home to 78 members and 31 auxiliary members from the Sons of the American Legion. Additionally, the Katonah Legion serves as a local meeting spot for countless Westchester residents, both veterans and non-veterans alike, who are able to enjoy the facility as guests.
